Saving penguin ryan (and all of his friends and siblings)

An article published in Current Conservation, where I write about my experience volunteering as a Chick Rearing Unit Intern at the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB), Cape Town, South Africa. The article was illustrated by Aarya Yadav.

Current Conservation is a not-for-profit magazine that raises awareness about all things conservation by creating wonderfully engaging pieces by working in close collaboration with environmentalists, artists, scientists and sci-communicators.

Cinema and Solitude

Curated for a virtual exhbition organized by the students of Ashoka University that explored the importance and effects of cinema on our lives, especially when viewed through the lens of pandemic-induced isolation.

I drew a comfy space with a non-judgmental cat that's just happy to exist in a little bubble that holds momentary distraction from the then-depressing reality of life.

TigerShield

Here we see tigers drawing inspiration from the masks made and worn by the fishermen and bushmen of the Sunderbans to ward off tiger attacks from the back. The tigers hope that on seeing their own kind stare back at them, human poachers won't pull the trigger and the tiger families will remain safe!
These masks called TigerShield (pun intended and also, I can no longer verify the spelling of "tiger" and "shield") are made from bamboo, and have comfy strings that dont tug at the tigers' ears. They're ecofriendly anti-poaching devices, and now, also available in cub size!!
